Essential Apps

Organizing your trip can be such a tedious thing. It is useful to have a trip organizer app that can help track our movement during the trip. Below is a screenshot of an app I had used on my trip on 2017. Will elaborate more in the next entry.

Areas to Cover

As for now, we have a rough plan of where we are going, for how long and how do we travel to the place. Since we will be arriving in Tokyo, it makes sense to stay and enjoy Tokyo for few days. We found a good accommodation offer from AirBnb. Rooms in Tokyo are expensive but if you look hard enough (or by luck) you'll find nice cosy apartment near amenities. Be sure to find places near train lines. In my case, we prefer a place nearby Yamanote Line. This is a circular line that goes around Tokyo. Most Malaysian muslim prefers area near Shinjuku or Shibuya since there are several halal outlets there.

Renewing Passports

The most importing to do before travelling oversea is to make sure your passport is still valid for at least 6 months on your travelling dates. Bad news.. All my kid's passports will expire by end of this year. Have to get them renewed in one of these weekends since my 2nd child is on 1 week holiday break from her boarding school.

The Beginning

Hey! What's up. This blog is created to dump all my findings while researching for my trip to Japan. This trip will take place sometime in mid December 2017. We expect the weather to be cold - but not that extreme. We will try to find a ski resort - for some snow adventure. This is the very first post so will be lack of details. Will gradually add more information as we go.

I am planning a family trip to Japan covering the southern part - Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka and then move up north towards Sapporo. This will be the second time we are going to Japan. Last trip was managed by our dear friend and I have little involvement in planning that trip. His itineraries can be found here: http://sallihinjapan.blogspot.my. So this one will be a big one for our family as we are travelling by ourselves. Below are list of attractions in our first plan.

This time we will arrive at Haneda (HND) airport and leave from Chitose (CTS) airport.

High level plan is to cover these places:
  1. Tokyo - Disneyland/Disney Sea, Akihabara, Tsukiji Market, Asakusa
  2. Kyoto - Traditional Village - Samurai Museum
  3. Nara Park - Deer city
  4. Osaka - Universal Studio
  5. Mt Fuji - To get better view of Mt. Fuji. We've been to the lake and now it is to get a view from the other side :). i.e. from Five Fuji Lakes
  6. Hokkaido - Hakodate, Chitose (Royce Choc world!..Yummy), and possibly Rera Chitose Outlet
  7. Ski park
